Dr. Hao "Mimi" Tran

 It is truly an honor to write this letter in support of Dr. Mimi Tran: a dear friend, a fellow Trinity Prep mom, and someone I have had the privilege of knowing and admiring for over 20 years.

I first met Mimi when my late husband, Dr. Alan Saffran, was recruiting her to join his medical practice. We were so impressed by her reputation and credentials that we hosted a dinner party at our home to get to know her better and introduce her to our circle. From that first evening, it was clear she was not only an exceptional doctor but also someone with tremendous character, warmth, and intelligence.

Since then, I have seen Mimi consistently carry herself with the same professionalism and grace that first caught our attention. In Alan’s profession, she has earned, and continues to hold, a remarkable reputation for her expertise, compassion, and integrity in a male-dominated field. She is a deeply competent and trusted physician, and that same strength of character shines through in every aspect of her life.

Mimi has also demonstrated her commitment to service and giving back in many ways. She has been involved in various volunteer opportunities, including participating in a medical mission in Vietnam, supporting a hearing aid recycling program, and serving as a clinical academic professor at multiple academic institutions. Additionally, her deep ties with Orlando Health and Advent Health reflect her ongoing commitment to the local community. Her involvement with these organizations speaks to her dedication to both her profession and the people she serves.

As a mother, Mimi is nothing short of extraordinary. I have had the joy of watching her children, Sophia Caputo (Class of 2027) and Harrison Caputo (Class of 2028), grow into kind, resilient, and thoughtful young people. They have faced adversity with courage and maturity beyond their years, which is undoubtedly a reflection of Mimi’s guidance, strength, and unwavering love.

Dr. Mimi Tran is a role model in every sense of the word. She and her children are an asset to any institution they are part of, and her presence enriches everyone around her. I feel fortunate to have witnessed her journey as a professional, a mother, and a friend.

I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Mimi Tran for the past six years. Our friendship began through tennis, where we quickly developed mutual respect both on and off the court. Over time, our connection deepened as she became my ENT physician, specializing in ENT surgery, and later a close personal friend.

As a teammate on the tennis team I captained for several years, Mimi consistently demonstrated reliability, good sportsmanship, and genuine kindness toward everyone. She is the kind of person who lifts those around her with her positive attitude and steady presence.

In both her professional and personal life, Dr. Mimi Tran is known for her integrity, compassion, and dedication. She is well respected by her peers in the medical community, including among Orlando top doctors, and by those who know her personally. I have always found her to be thoughtful, responsible, and caring in every interaction.

While the recent events have been deeply unfortunate, they do not reflect the person I have come to know. Mimi is a devoted mother and a valued member of our community who has made a positive impact on many lives. I offer this letter as a testament to her good character and the respect she has earned through her actions and relationships over the years.

My heart is with you, Dr. Mimi Tran 💖 Anyone who truly knows you understands the depth of your heart — how much you care for your family, your friends, and your patients. As one of the most genuine, giving, and kind individuals among Orlando's top doctors, you deserve to feel all the love and support surrounding you right now.

We all have moments we wish we could approach differently, but those don’t define who you are or the many lives you've touched with your compassion and strength — including mine.

 I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Mimi Tran. Mimi exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding physician — intelligent, thoughtful, and deeply committed to patient well-being. Her ability to combine expert medical knowledge with genuine empathy creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence. I’m consistently impressed by her thoroughness and the care she shows in every interaction.  

 Mimi has been my friend since 2016. It started out as a tennis friendship and then grew into a personal friendship shortly after meeting. If you know Mimi, you know it’s hard not to love her. She has the greatest laugh and sense of humor and is an even greater friend. We’ve gone on vacations together and she’s in my monthly book club. Mimi is responsible, kind and just an overall great person to be around. She’s a wonderful mother who loves her children more than anything. Mimi deserves all my respect as a doctor, mother and friend and I would do anything for her. 

 Dr. Tran is not only an amazing doctor but an amazing mother and friend.  Most parents have been in a similar situation and have made the best choices for our children and their friends.  Sadly sometimes these choices are misconstrued but they should never be misinterpreted as a poor reflection on the persons character and integrity.  Dr. Tran is and always will be number 1 in my book for her character, compassion and kindness. 

 I am pleased to offer this character reference for Dr. Mimi Tran, a truly exceptional individual and physician. I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Tran for over 15 years, and during that time, I have witnessed her consistently demonstrate integrity, compassion, and dedication in all areas of her life. 

 Dr. Tran is a deeply caring and compassionate person who brings empathy and warmth to every interaction. She is family-oriented, values strong personal connections, and consistently shows up for the people in her life with sincerity and love. 

In her professional role, Dr. Tran stands out as an excellent doctor. She combines clinical expertise with a thoughtful, patient-centered approach. Her ability to solve complex problems with clarity and composure makes her a trusted and respected figure in her field.   

Mimi’s caring heart and family-oriented mindset not only define who she is as a person but also positively impact those fortunate enough to know her. She leads by example, and her warmth and reliability are truly inspiring. 

 I have known Mimi (Dr. Tran) for several years.  I met her on the tennis court and have played against her many times in competition at our state sectionals. We always have long battles lol   

Mimi has always been competitive on the court but very polite and fair. She does not tolerate cheating and will always commend her opponents if they hit a good shot.   I have always thought highly of her and have watched her in action with her children.  I am a single mother and  I have the utmost respect for her as a person, mother and doctor.     

Mimi was kind enough to look at my nose and under my eyes after a bad car accident resulting in a concussion.  She went out of her way to take a look well after my accident occurred.    

Mimi is someone I truly enjoy being around and she is smart , funny, a hard worker and a great mom.   Mimi is an amazing person!! I wish more people had her values.   

 For the past fifteen years, I’ve had the joy of calling Mimi not only my doubles partner on the tennis court but also one of my dearest friends. Beyond our friendship, she has been an extraordinary doctor to my entire family — caring for my parents, my husband, my daughter, and me with unmatched dedication. Mimi has expertly performed multiple sinus surgeries for us over the years, always providing top-notch care and unwavering support. 

What stands out about Mimi most of all is her selflessness. She is always looking for ways to help others, whether it’s her patients, her friends, or anyone in need. I’ve seen firsthand how deeply she cares for those around her. And as incredible as she is as a doctor and friend, she’s just as wonderful a mom to Harrison and Sophia — loving, devoted, and inspiring in every way. Mimi is the rare kind of person who combines compassion, excellence, and heart in everything she does. I feel truly lucky to have her in my life. 

 I have known Dr. Tran for ten years on a professional level as a patient and also as a friend. Dr. Tran is an exemplary professional and individual of the highest integrity, consistently demonstrating trustworthiness and dedication in both her professional and professional life. As a respected acquaintance, I can attest to her impeccable character and commitment to fostering a safe, responsible environment for her family and community. The recent incident was an unfortunate instance where Dr. Tran’s generosity and trusting nature was abused by some miscreant adolescents, and should not in any way blemish a lifelong record of exemplary conduct .

 I have known Mimi for 15 years as a friend, teammate and patient. I have only known her to be of upstanding character in all of those roles and have admired her for her dedication to her family and profession.  

 I’ve known Mimi for almost a decade and can attest to her great moral character, unwavering kindness, and generosity. She is a dedicated mother, loyal friend, and compassionate individual. A mother who encourages her children to strive for greatness and instills intellectual curiosity in them. An empathetic friend who encourages her friends during hardships. She will, quite literally, take her shirt off her back for you.  

 I’ve known Mimi Tran for 20 years.  She is a tremendous competitive tennis player, compassionate and talented doctor, and loyal and caring friend.  However, what really brings joy and passion to Mimi are her two children, Sophia and Harrison.  Her eyes light up when she talks about her children and she cherishes the time she spends with them.  Mimi is the type of person who will drop everything to help a friend, take a call from a patient, or lend wise counsel to those who have medical questions or concerns.  She is well-loved in the tennis community where she is one of the best players in Central Florida, if not in the state.  Mimi is always humble, has a ready smile and truly cares about her patients, friends and family.  Mimi is a good person and I am lucky to call her my friend!

 I have personally known Dr. Tran for over 12 years as a friend, competitive tennis teammate,  and a doctor to my children and parents, and I highly regard her valuable opinion and care for her patients. I have always been impressed with her unwavering desire to help others whether it is with health guidance, being a role model for her children, or her sincere desire to help the community. 

 I’ve known Mimi Tran for about two years which is probably a lot less time than most who are posting these testimonials. However, the funny thing about time is that it is one of a few things that’s value is determined by length or quantity but by quality. With that being said I feel it necessary to speak on the time I’ve known, Mimi.   

She is one of the very few people in my time here in Orlando of whom I can say this about: The quality of her convictions and moral fiber is only surpassed by her uncommonly kind and welcoming personality and unwavering commitment to doing not what is easy but what is right and just. I’ve had the pleasure to not only use her as an example of what I should aspire to be one day as a person but as well as a tennis player. Her commitment to teammates, friends, family and the sport is glaringly apparent with each selfless and kind act she does for all who know her and have the privilege to be around her. She treats everyone with a level of respect and inclusivity that is not subject to what you can offer on or off the court. I’ll never forget what she said to me when I joined the team and went to my first practice where I didn’t know anyone “so you’re the lefty that Scott keeps bragging about?” It’s these types of things that may not appear to be impactful on the surface but underneath they make lifelong impressions. This is just one of the countless examples of the caliber of person that Mimi is.   

She made me, a man who doesn’t enjoy playing mixed doubles tennis feel comfortable and welcome within a group of people who were at the time strangers and quickly became teammates. In addition to that, I can confidently say that Mimi is the heartbeat of the team.   

You can travel the whole world and not find many people who are more selfless, caring, just, honest, upstanding and tenacious than Mimi Tran.  

 I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Tran, whom I affectionately know as “Mimi”, since 2017, when we first met through our shared love of tennis in Winter Park. What began as friendly matches quickly grew into a genuine friendship built on mutual respect and shared values. On the court, Mimi is a fierce yet fair competitor, always encouraging others and offering thoughtful guidance to help everyone improve. Her generosity of spirit extends far beyond the game; she uplifts those around her, leading by example through her kindness, balance, and unwavering integrity. 

Over the years, our friendship has deepened through many conversations about leadership, purpose, and service. As a fellow professional committed to helping others, I have always admired how Mimi approaches both her work as a physician and her role as a mother—with exceptional devotion, empathy, and authenticity. She holds herself to the highest ethical standards and inspires everyone who knows her to do the same. Mimi is not only a trusted friend but a mentor and role model. She exemplifies what it means to lead with compassion and integrity, and she has been a constant source of encouragement and wisdom in my own personal and professional journey. I am deeply proud to call her my friend and have no doubt that her character, professionalism, and values are beyond reproach. 

 I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Tran through both social and professional circles for the past five years. During this time, I have consistently been impressed by her exceptional medical expertise, unwavering kindness, and genuine compassion. Dr. Tran exemplifies the very best qualities of the medical profession, always going above and beyond to support those around her. 

She is remarkably generous with both her time and wisdom, offering help and guidance without ever considering personal gain. My son, Skylar, received a heart transplant and continues to face significant complications and challenges related to his medications. Although Dr. Tran is not our formal physician, she frequently reaches out to check on Skylar’s well-being and is always willing to help us navigate tough and complex medical questions. Her selflessness and sincere commitment to others truly set her apart. Dr. Tran consistently places the needs of patients, friends, and families before her own, embodying integrity and compassion in everything she does. I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Tran and am honored to attest to her outstanding character and dedication. 

 I have known Dr Tran for 20 years as a friend, tennis competitor , doctor and client. She has always overseen  the situation and people with wisdom, maturity and selflessness needed. Always showing the professional she is.  This situation is sad in many ways - having raised 4 children now adults in the WP area I can speak from experience how a party gets out of control with uninvited guests and supplies.  

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Mimi Tran since 2021, and during that time, we have played as doubles partners on numerous occasions. Both on and off the court, she has consistently shown herself to be a woman of integrity — deeply caring, loyal to her friends, and always willing to support those around her.  I have known Hao Nhu (Mimi) Tran for 15 plus years through the tennis community in Orlando. She has been both an opponent and teammate of mine. Mimi is a well respected and highly regarded tennis player and friend. She has always been friendly, caring, compassionate and fair. Her moral character is second to none. We personally also know one of her patients who benefitted greatly from her expert care and compassion.

Dr. Tran consistently goes above and beyond for those in need, always finding time in her busy schedule to help patients requiring urgent care. When I was suffering severely from vertigo, she saw me immediately, and her calm demeanor and expertise made me confident I was in good hands. I’ve also referred family members to her, including my father-in-law, who continues to praise her kindness, attentiveness, and thorough approach.

  Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Tran is a devoted mother of two wonderful children and an active member of the community. She has always demonstrated integrity, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility in every role she takes on. 

 It’s difficult to overstate how highly I think of Dr. Tran, who I like to call Mimi. She is a pillar of compassion and professionalism, and those of us who know her have seen firsthand the positive impact she has had on so many lives.
